MONUMENTAL
Our streets and buildings are presided over in
many cases by important sculptures of marble and
other materials, which remind us of the Almerian land that we are.
Some buildings that embellish the village such as the
Ermita del Cristo de la Buena Muerte, on the outskirts for a reason that you will discover in our guided tours, or the church of the Assumption, which embraces the modernism and contemporaneity of the village are monumental buildings
to lose yourself in a cultural and artistic visit unparalleled.

Piedra Ver y Senderos
A typical natural landscape of the province of Almería surrounds us. Different paths start from the village, some of them in the direction of the Cristo de la Buena Muerte hermitage, others, like the Vía Verde, remind us of the old railway line. Unusual landscapes for the visitor.
Our great natural and patrimonial resource is Piedra Ver. The route from Olula to Macael passing through this enclave is one of the best known trails.
Piedra Ver is a Muslim fortification that sits on a settlement of the Bronze Age. Its abrupt and steep area rises above Olula becoming today an emblematic symbol of the city.

Doughnuts and wheelbarrows
As a historical and cultural town we cannot leave aside tradition. Olula del Río is tradition in its purest form.
On the eve of January 20 and 23 is celebrated the feast of the patron saints of Olula del Río, San Sebastián and San Ildefonso, a festival declared of National Tourist Interest in Andalusia in 1998.
Now is the time for the people, to place and cover the facades for the neighbors to pull during the night for each of the streets.
The image of fire, light and sound that will accompany visitors and the processions of San Sebastian and San Ildefonso, loaded with the donuts that the inhabitants throw as a promise during the massive procession are a tourist immersion that you can not miss if you visit Olula del Rio.
